Trip Overview
3 days trek through the Jungle forest of Nam Ha National Protected Area-an ASEAN Heritage Site (Nam Ha NPA), hidden of waterfall, excellent landscape, pass old growth, primary bamboo & wild banana forests, birds sightseeing, overnight at Yao village on the first night and the second night at Akha village, to see and learning about their cultures and traditional and discovery different ethnic minorities groups suah as: Tai Lue, Hmong & Lolo villages.

ITINERARY
Day 1: Nam Ha NPA-Ban Sai Leck (Yao Village). Approx. 4-5 hours
Start from our office by Tuk Tuk direct to the south of Nam Ha NPA on the road No. 17B Muang Sing-Luang Namtha around 17 km, where higher mountain cover by jungle forest, many different species of birds and elephant habitat. Walk up to the mountain of Nam Ha NPA to see different type of forest as bamboo, wild banana to visit beautiful waterfall. A lunch will be eaten at the waterfall, after lunch leave from the waterfall pass through the old forest, agricultural fields, visit Ban Sai Leck (Yao village) where we get an overnight stay. While waiting for dinner visit the villages walk around and meet the people, learn about their lifestyle, traditional, cultures, architecture…then enjoy your dinner host by local people. After dinner you will receive Yao performance their traditional and culture. The late you will get free massage which is given traditionally to the guests staying overnight in the village.
 
Day 2: Ban Sai Leck-Ban Pha Yha Luang (Akha Village). Approx. 4-5 hours
Enjoy daily life of Yao in the early morning, after breakfast at the Yao Eco-lodge, continue walk though agriculture field and conservation forest of villages to see different colorful of ethnic groups around Muang Sing Valley, lunch will eaten on the trail. You will arrive Ban Pha Yha Luang around 4:00 PM where we stay overnight for the second night. While waiting for dinner visit the villages walk around and meet the people, learn about Akha traditional, Akha architecture. After dinner you will receive Akha performance their culture & a massage which is traditionally given to the guests staying overnight in the village.

Day 3: Ban Pha Yha Luang-Muang Sing Town. Approx. 3-4 hours
In the early morning you will see Akha lifestyle such as: cooking, feeding, looking garden, get water…after breakfast at the Eco-lodge, walk to visit other minority groups in different villages as Akha, Tai Lue and Lolo, all local people in the villages they are very friendly, the tour will finish when get the Tuk Tuk back to Muang Sing around 4:00 PM.

To meet our objectives, we recommend:
  • Fitness level-Moderate
  To reach and experience a variety of visually rewarding landscapes and ecosystems, the trek hike can be strenuous at times. So the tour is best suited to trekkers in sound physical condition. Expect to walk 5 - 6 hours on day 1 and day 2, a further 4-5 hours on day 2 including ascents and descents  Good fitness levels will minimize body stress and enhance your positive trekking experience.
 
  • Foot protection and safe walking
      A good quality pair of well fitting shoes with effective traction is essential. Either a pair of ‘runners’ or lightweight trekking boots are highly recommended for safety (foot and ankle protection), sureness of travel and overall enjoyment.
 
  • Sun Protection
      A broad brimmed hat is best, with water resistant ‘block out’ (sun screen cream), cool long shirt sleeves, cool trousers, sunglasses.
 
  • Insect protection. For comfort and safety  regarding possible insect bites and stings  we suggest

  2. Cool long shirt sleeves, cool trousers, cool socks
  3. (Overnight Mosquito nets are provided for you)
 
  • Rain Wear
      Tropical showers are an integral element of the landscape, so a waterproof layer is essential
 
  • Evening Wear
      After trekking your body temperature will cool quickly you rest and the night descends, so an additional layer of warm clothing is essential
 
  • Cold weather
      Night Temperatures in the mountains can drop fairly low during the Lao winter (December to January).  Again, additional thermal clothing is essential.

For the village accommodation:
  • There are no western-style toilets and washing facilities.
  • Sleeping is on mats on a bamboo floor, dormitory style.
  • Sleeping bags, foam mats and mosquito nets are supplied.
