Trip Overview
Visit Stupa of Xieng Tueng, trek following Old Falang Tail, Visit Nam Keo waterfall, walk into the wild visit jungle forest, and enjoy great view of Nam Ha valley, walk along stream explore nature and big tree, first day overnight in a tents prepare in Pha Yueng Waterfall area and the second night overnight in the lodge in Yao village.

ITINERARY
Day 1: Muang Sing town-Pha Yueng Camp. Approx. 4-5 hours
Departure from our office by Tuk Tuk visit Stupa of Xieng Tueng, the important of Stupa in Muang Sing, take a few minutes, next continue walk following the Old Falang Tail (Old French trail when Muang Sing came under French control 50 year ago), along the trail you have to walk through the jungle forest, on the top of the mountain you will see excellent view. After enjoy local tradition lunch walk down to the mountain, along the bank of stream you will see many kind of big trees. Around 4:30 PM you will arrive in the camp area, easy walking around, drink some Lao Beer and enjoy your dinner...Stay overnight with the tents.
 
Day 2: Pha Yueng Camp-wild elephant-Ban Sai Leck (Yao Village).
Approx. 4-5 hours
In the early morning you will hear many kind of birds calling from around your camp area, some day you will hear the gibbon calling from the higher mountain and if you are lucky you will hear the bark of the wild rain forest, before breakfast visit Pha Yueng Waterfall. After breakfast continue walking up the mountain pass old forest, banana forest visit beautiful waterfall, lunch will provide on the trial, next walking visit Ban Nam Deat Mai (Akha village), Ban Nam Mai and Ban Sai Leck that Yao Villages,  the village we stay overnight on the second day. While waiting for dinner visit the villages walk around and meet the people, learn about traditional Yao architecture. After dinner, you will receive a massage which is traditionally given to the guests staying overnight in the village.

Day 3: Ban Sai Leck-Muang Sing town. Approx. 3-4 hours
After Breakfast at the lodge, walk through a lot of different ethnic villages issued from Yao, Akha and Tai Lue people. You will be learning about the cultural differences between them during the walk. Lunch will be served on the trail and the final get the Tuk Tuk back to Muang Sing.

To meet our objectives, we recommend:
  • Fitness level-Moderate
  To reach and experience a variety of visually rewarding landscapes and ecosystems, the trek hike can be strenuous at times. So the tour is best suited to trekkers in sound physical condition. Expect to walk 4-5 hours on day 1 and day 3, a further 5-6 hours on day 2 including ascents and descents Good fitness levels will minimize body stress and enhance your positive trekking experience.
 
  • Foot protection and safe walking
      A good quality pair of well fitting shoes with effective traction is essential. Either a pair of ‘runners’ or lightweight trekking boots are highly recommended for safety (foot and ankle protection), sureness of travel and overall enjoyment.
 
  • Sun Protection
      A broad brimmed hat is best, with water resistant ‘block out’ (sun screen cream), cool long shirt sleeves, cool trousers, sunglasses.
 
  • Insect protection. For comfort and safety  regarding possible insect bites and stings  we suggest
     
  1. Insect Repellent,
  2. Cool long shirt sleeves, cool trousers, cool socks
  3. (Overnight Mosquito nets are provided for you)
 
  • Rain Wear
      Tropical showers are an integral element of the landscape, so a waterproof layer is essential
 
  • Evening Wear
      After trekking your body temperature will cool quickly you rest and the night descends, so an additional layer of warm clothing is essential
 
  • Cold weather
      Night Temperatures in the mountains can drop fairly low during the Lao winter (December to January).  Again, additional thermal clothing is essential.

You should be aware that:
For the village accommodation:
  • There are no western-style toilets and washing facilities.
  • Sleeping is on mats on a bamboo floor, dormitory style.
  • Sleeping bags, foam mats and mosquito nets are supplied.
